Cheating on HCG Diet: How to Get Back on Track
For many years, people who found themselves cheating on HCG Diet during Phase 2 thought they could counteract that with an apple day. That is not always the best answer. The primary purpose of the apple day is to help the body when it reaches a weight loss plateau – that means no loss of pounds for four straight days. If you go three days without losing weight, then lose half a pound on the fourth day, you have not hit a plateau. That is not the same thing as cheating.Because you are only on the very restrictive part of the HCG Diet for 42 days, we hope that you can maintain the protocol without eating something that is not allowed. Cheating on the HCG Diet is easily avoided by telling yourself you only have “x” amount of days to go until you can have other foods.Yes, we know that life happens, and sometimes, you just cannot help yourself. Maybe it was a glass of champagne at a wedding or a piece of birthday cake at the office. Hopefully, that is all it was – just one small cheat and then you got back on track. However, if cheating on HCG injection diet found you consuming an entire bag of potato chips or container of ice cream, that is an entirely different subject. It is easy to catch yourself and get back on track after one small cheat. However, some people who get out of control figure that since they blew it, they might as well go big. That is a harder cheat to rebound from since you have saturated your bloodstream with sugar and starches. Luckily, it is not impossible to get back in the saddle and start losing weight again.
Cheating on the HCG Diet should always be avoided – remember, Phase 2 lasts no more than six weeks – the time goes by fast.

What You Should Not Do After You Cheat on the HCG Diet
Here are some things you should not do after cheating on HCG Diet:
- Give up – never quit! Just because you cheated once or twice does not mean you will fail. Call us; we can help you get back on track and succeed.
- Beat yourself up or get stressed – it is natural to be upset with yourself after cheating, but what’s done is done. Beating yourself up or getting stressed will not change the past, but they may interfere with getting back on track.
- Have an apple day – that is not the right way to handle cheating on HCG Diet. Apple days are for when you hit a four-day plateau with no weight loss. Eating six apples in one day adds too much sugar and carbohydrates to your body, which is already trying to recover from the cheat day.
- Do not lower your calories – your body must continue to receive between 500 and 700 calories a day.
Also, if you find yourself cheating every day on HCG Diet, you must contact Weight Loss Medical Center to discuss your options. Daily cheating is counterproductive to the HCG Diet protocol.
Do not quit, beat yourself up, lower your caloric intake, or eat only apples after a cheat day!
