HCG should always be kept refrigerated, removing it to come to room temperature no more than 30 minutes before use. Step 1

Step 1 of the HCG injections user guide focuses on preparing your daily shot. Here are the steps to follow to begin this process:

• Remove the prepared HCG from the refrigerator 20 to 30 minutes before use to allow it to come to room temperature
• Gather your supplies – a 1 ml insulin syringe, 2 alcohol swabs, Sharps container
• Wipe the top of the HCG cap with an alcohol swab to sterilize the cap
• Remove the cap from the 1 ml needle and set it aside for recapping after the HCG injection
• Pull back on the plunger until it reaches the 50 unit mark filling it with 50 units of air

Step 2

Step 2 is the process of drawing out your daily HCG injection:

• Insert the needle of the air-filled syringe into the HCG vial
• Push the plunger in injecting the 50 units of air into the vial
• Tilt the vial slanting downwards so that the needle is covered by the HCG
• Slowly pull back on the plunger filling it with HCG solution until the 50 unit mark is reached
• Remove the needle from the vial, setting the vial aside
• Recap the needle and put it aside while you prepare the injection site

Step 3

Step 3 allows you to prepare the site where you will be injecting your HCG shot. You will alternate sides each day. If you are injecting the HCG into the right side of your abdomen today, you will inject it into the left side tomorrow.

Important note: For those of you who are also injecting vitamin B 12 shots, you will use the opposite side from your HCG injection each day, alternating sides, as well.

• Choose an injection site 1 – 2” off to the side of the belly button
• Take a clean alcohol swab and wipe the area you will use for the HCG injection (wipe both areas if also injecting a separate B 12 shot)
• Remove the cap from the needle and set aside for recapping after the injection

Step 4

Step 4 is the actual injecting of the HCG medication.

• Pinch the skin and tissue where you will be injecting the shot between your thumb and first 2 fingers (about 1 inch of skin is fine)
• Insert the needle at a 45-degree angle
• Slowly push in on the plunger until all of the HCG has been injected
• Remove the needle and release the skin
• Repeat the process on the other side if using vitamin B 12

Step 5

Step 5 is the completion of the daily injection process.

• Recap the needle and discard the entire syringe unit in the Sharps container
• Replace the HCG vial in the refrigerator
